Queen, one of the most amazing bands of all time. Formed in 1971, they created masterpiece after masterpiece in the form of song. Play Bohemian Rhapsody, or We Will Rock You, or Fat Bottomed Girls and you are guaranteed to make the rocking world literally go round.
Freddie Mercury, the charismatic front man of the group, was a phenomenally talented musician who shall remain immortal in the minds and hearts of generations to come. Although he tragically succumbed to AIDs on the 24th of November 1991, his flamboyant style has helped to define the future generations of music and art. With the 26th year since his passing fast approaching, Wide Aperture began the preparations for a Tribute to Queen that would have impressed Freddie himself.
As a lover of Queen and Freddie Mercury, I was incredibly honored and amped to work with Wide Aperture once again on his newest vision. The Queens of Queen. Beautiful women from all walks of life taking on the role of Freddie Mercury to slay in a stunning tribute to Queen.
From the iconic look of tight leather to the stunning simplicity of a crown placed majestically on their heads, these women not only took this tribute to heart…but ran with it and belted out their love for the art from the highest of mountain tops.
Otis, owner of Wide Aperture, stated that his reason for creating such tribute was to celebrate Queen, his love for music and art, and to bring those within our little photography community together to create something beautiful.
Freddie Mercury, he had it all, style, stage presence, killer vocals…and we did our best to honor him.
