A Pinup is Proud

I feel like you should always celebrate life’s big moments. Be it birthdays, anniversaries, or promotions. I may have left the work force when we began our crazy parenting journey, but my husband did not.

He has worked tirelessly to get to where he is today. Hours spent studying, completing assignments, and just plain old busting his butt. He has come home mentally exhausted to a wife who was physically and emotionally exhausted, and instead of calling it a day would help make dinner and put all of our little ones to bed. There have been so many times this year where I would wave the white flag of surrender only to have Michael come in and take charge.

So when we got word he would be promoting soon, I wanted to throw him a little shindig to celebrate and show my appreciation for all he has done and does for us. It would be a great way to let down our hair and have fun with family and friends. The kids of course were pretty excited for a “Party! Party!” (How excited? Let’s just say they asked for DAYS how long it was until the party with friends…)

Red, white, and blue was the theme for our little soirrie with treats and decor to match. We had a pretty fun time planning the party and putting it into motion! Although there were many, many laps around Party City while whisper-screaming at the kids to stop chasing each other.

Celebrating with friends, both old and new, was the best way to honor Michael’s hard work while also eating great food (and finally getting in some adult conversation!) And at the end of the party? This place that we’ve found ourselves in, felt even more like our home.
